Bought this to stop my stacked hard drives from overheating due to the heat transfer from the bottom one to the one above etc of which I have 4. However the furing at the front of the case doesn't allow enough space for a 25mm fan so I got a 12mm one instead.
Installation:
I cheated on the installation by using velcro in the centre and corners because to screw it in place I would have had to remove all four hard drives, the drive case extension to get the fan in place .... forget that!!! and as it happens was a good choice anyway due to the poor design of the furing and screw holes. However, it would not have been difficult to fit on the average case.
Performance:
The fan just about creates enough airflow to keep the temperature of the HD at the top of the stack acceptable maxing at 46C whereas before it was getting to 80C. Also the fan is pretty quiet too so on the whole I'm happy.
