We Think, Therefore We Are (Daw Book Collectors) Cep Kitabı – 6 Ocak 2009
Artificial intelligence has captured the imaginations of writers, readers, and scientists alike, from Karl Capek's R.U.R. to Isaac Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics, from Robby the Robot to The Terminator and The Bicentennial Man, and?of course?Arthur C. Clarke's Hal 9000.
Now some of the most innovative thinkers in science fiction offer an intriguing variety of tales featuring the many forms of AI, from frightening to funny. These authors confront one of contemporary mankind's deepest concerns?what do we do when the machines we created evolve beyond us?

I'm a big fan of collections like these since they present such a great variety of stories focused on a particular theme. Even better, if one story isn't clicking for you then it's easy to just move on to the next one. Out of any collection (this book features 15 tales) there will always be a few clunkers for the average reader.
As expected this collection has both hits and misses (bearing in mind of course that your mileage may vary). A couple of stories ("The Highway Code" and "Some Fast Thinking Needed") struck me as particularly good and full-featured, while a couple of others I ended up skipping quickly and I couldn't even figure out what relationship they had to the theme of the book (looking at you, "Chinese Room"). Overall there were more "misses" for me than "hits" in this particular collection, which of course happens sometimes.
Recommended for any fans of short story science fiction and/or fans of the intelligent computer genre.
The overall feel to this book is kind of boring to be honest with you. There are times when the authors are trying to raise some philsophical issues, which may be great if there were other people around to dicuss them with.
I guess because I have read and watched so many Sci-Fi stuff that this book just doesn't do anything for me - No surprises
